How do I know when to water my plant?Updated a year ago

Since each plant has distinct watering requirements, the challenge lies in understanding when your green amigos are thirsty. While the Plantsome app is a fantastic tool for keeping track, achieving the perfect watering routine requires a deeper understanding of your specific plant varieties.

To help you master the art of watering, here are a few practical tips:

  • Check the soil moisture by inserting your finger about an inch into the soil; if it feels dry, it's time to water.
  • Lift the pot occasionally to gauge its weight – a noticeable lightness indicates dry soil. Inspect the leaves for signs of drooping or loss of turgidity, which suggests the plant needs water.
  • Consider investing in a moisture meter for accurate readings, and ensure proper water drainage by observing if water flows out of the pot's bottom.
