How do I treat Spider Mites?Updated a year ago

Spider mites, the elusive cousins of spiders, pose a unique challenge as they are nearly invisible to the naked eye. Detecting a spider mite infestation can be tricky, often becoming evident only after they've caused damage to your plants. The good news is that most plants can withstand spider mite invasions, and controlling this pest is generally manageable.

So, how can you tackle these stealthy invaders? Start by inspecting the undersides of the leaves, where spider mites often hide. If the infestation is limited, carefully remove the infected leaves, ensuring the healthier ones remain untouched. Another effective method is to spray your plants with cold water. Create a solution by adding 2% hand soap and 1% alcohol to a water sprayer, then apply it over your plant. Given the rapid reproduction of spider mites, it's crucial to target their eggs as well. Regularly spray and inspect your plant's leaves several times a week until the infestation is gone. In cases where these methods prove ineffective, consider exploring biological pesticides as another solution.
