When should I repot my plant?Updated 2 days ago
At Plantsome, we prioritize the well-being of your green companions, and timing is crucial when it comes to repotting. To ensure the optimal transition for your plant after traveling, we recommend refraining from repotting for the first three months. This period allows your plant to acclimate to its new environment without disturbance to its roots.
Once this initial settling period has passed, keep an eye out for roots emerging from the sides of the grower's pot. This is can be a sign that your plant is outgrowing its current home and may benefit from repotting. However, roots popping out of the pot does not need to be cause for worry, as this can happen before the roots have filled the soil.
Typically, waiting until the plant has slowed its growth and is showing other signs of needing a repot will be the best to ensure as little stress to the plant as possible.
For most plants, the ideal time of year for repotting is during the spring or summer months. During this period of active growth, plants are better equipped to recover from the stress of repotting. Additionally, the warmer temperatures and increased sunlight promote root development and overall plant health, setting the stage for successful repotting.
