What is the Happy Plant Guarantee and how does the warranty work?Updated a year ago
Excellent question!
All of our green amigos have a warranty period of 3 months. But what exactly does that mean? Well, let us explain. Here's the TLDR:
- If your order suffers from shipping damage severely affecting the health of your plant(s) or restricting the use of the item(s), please reach out to us within 2 weeks of delivery for a free replacement* or store credit**.
- If you're noticing a decline in your amigo's health after the first 2 weeks, send us some photos and we'll be happy to take a look and provide some tips. If your plant still doesn't make it in the first 3 months, we can provide a store credit for the plant.
Those pesky terms and conditions..
We'll try to keep these short and simple, but there are a few conditions that need to be met to qualify for our Happy Plant Guarantee. Here's a short list that explains it all:
- See anything wrong with the plant? Please reach out right away. Don't wait until your plant has died before reaching out as there is often no longer a way to establish what happened and what caused it. We don't want to point fingers, of course, but if we can't establish a cause of death then it's hard to establish if the Happy Plant Guarantee applies!
- Resist the urge to repot! Repotting generally isn’t needed in the first three to six months. It is a common misconception that you should repot your plants right away. Repotting can shock your plant’s root system and cause other harm right after transport, especially given that we ship most plants. So, if you do decide to repot your green amigo it will void the Happy Plant Guarantee. Just sayin'!
- Oh! And pics or it didn't happen... Send us some photos at [email protected] so our plant doctor can get in there for a closer look! See below (Pests, Plagues and the Plant Apocalypse) for issues around pests.
- Bonus points: Download the Plantsome App and turn on all notifications so we know what your plants' care routines have been like. This tells us if you've been a naughty plant parent (ahem, water please!) or a nice plant parent!
After we’ve given you some care tips, give your green amigo some time to adjust to the new routine. Plants are resilient creatures, so be sure to give your plants at least 2-3 weeks to recover from whatever was hurting them. If you see no sign of further deterioration then we’re on the right track!
If you've followed the steps above, but your green amigo still didn’t make it, then we'll honour the guarantee with a store credit for the item.
Pests, Plagues and the Plant Apocalypse
If you see pests/plagues within two weeks of receiving your plants, please let us know immediately! We will have our Plant Doctor take a look and determine the best course of action from there. Keep in mind that pests can come from anywhere! Our growers use strict protocols to ensure that their facilities and products are free of bugs and pests. Unfortunately, these little devils can still find their way onto plants from time to time so be sure to reach out when you see one upon arrival.
Terrariums
While terrariums can be a fun addition to your indoor garden, it's important to note that they fall slightly outside of our Happy Plant Guarantee. As terrariums involve repotting plants into an enclosed environment, the health and longevity of the plants can depend heavily on the initial setup and ongoing care. However, we stand by the quality of our plants and want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If your terrarium plants don't thrive within the first three months after being planted, we're happy to offer replacement plants for just the cost of the shipping label. Alternatively, we can issue a credit for the value of the terrarium plants, allowing you to choose new plants or accessories for your indoor garden.
Outdoor Plants
Plants from the Outdoor Collection that have been kept indoors unfortunately do not qualify for the Guarantee.

** Store credit is issued in the form of a discount code, which can be applied at checkout. The credit amount is equivalent to the value of the items paid for at the time of the order, including taxes, minus any discounts applied.
